Who we are is life force energy, which has the will to bestow. No self concern!! For there is no need. It creates everything so takes care of itself automatically. It is what gives us life, it is the opposite of the ego.
Focus your intention on being in touch with the life force, the non-physical; place your intention, awareness and identification on that. If you are having trouble finding a centered place, then simply become aware of your breath, feel your breath coming in and out and find peace in the space it brings. We are the force behind thought, we have created much thought from a state of lack, a state of fear, a state with a limited field of perception. Many of these thoughts have now become beliefs and will continue to arise even after we become more familiar with our natural ‘being’ state. It is important to simply observe and not get caught up in the thoughts and emotions that we have a tendency to resist or not like. By observing we are not rejecting, we are simply watching and have no attachment. An example could be watching a violent scene in a documentary and you are a person who does not like violence. You observe the scene without bias because you know it is a important part of the story and a part you must be aware of. You feel the emotion the scene provokes, however you do not judge it or develop conclusions, because you still have the rest of the story to observe. By observing our thoughts we come to recognize the stories we have been telling ourselves, by witnessing our emotions we come to realize what thoughts we have been believing and what we are holding onto.
The Ego, however, is not who you really are. The ego is your self-image; it is your social mask; it is the role you are playing. Your social mask thrives on approval. It wants control, and it is sustained by power, because it lives in fear.
- Deepak Chopra
Lack of enthusiasm and interest in life, indicates that something is amiss. There is joy, love, beauty, power and knowledge in every moment of life experience. Young children naturally live life with interest and enthusiasm. When boredom, joylessness and jadedness begin to overtake life it usually means that it is masking a history of disappointment, rejection and fear. The mask of disinterest is there to protect one from risking further disappointment and pain. The idea is that if you are to want anything and don’t try for anything, then you can’t fail or be hurt. Of course it doesn’t work that way in practice. In actually, such people only burying their pain, not healing it, so they are living a life of inner pain while feigning disinterest. My advice is to ask yourself what you are afraid of? Then ask what would be fun and interesting for you to do if you weren’t afraid of anything bad happening. From that you will discover what your joy in life is as well as what fears you need to release.
